Hardware
Here you will find plans and designs to build magstripe interfaces, as well
as hardware modifications.
-
Standard Magstripe Reader - The original interface,
which connects a TTL Reader to the PC's game port.
-
Parallel Port Adapter - A powerful adapter which
allows a standard reader to connect to a PC using the parallel port, while protecting
and the host computer.
-
Parallel Port Adapter (El Cheapo) - An extremely simple adapter
to interface a standard reader to a parallel port. Experimental! Only tested on Omron readers!
-
Multi-track Modification - Shows how to modify a single
track magstripe reader to read all 3 tracks!
-
POS keyboard Modification - Keyboards that come with Point of Sale stations
have the power to decode several tracks and are extremely cheap to buy in the
after market (normally around $15). Sadly, these devices are crippled by the
manufacturer. This shows how to re-wire these keyboards to access their full
potential. (COMING SOON)
